Maybe take her to someone that she can talk to. because sometimes we eat because of emotional distress that was can not express and therefore we eat. Whether she is stressed or depressed.but first don’t jump to conclusions about what it is. START talking to her and ask why and how it makes her feel when she eats, tell her its better to eat bigger meals during the day rather than in the middle of the night. But don’t lock anything up yet, find the root problem and fix that first. if she just likes to eat and keeps doing it than get her into her doctor there might be an actual medical reason for it. but be nice about the situation and try and find the REAL problem behind the excess eating. Good luck.

Usually children get offended when you tell them to eat less. i’d say to just keep fixing them healthy meals, and giving them small snacks at day, so they don’t stuff themselves at night.

just let her eat. if she is hungry and wants to eat, then let her. u can help by getting her to exercise more. aerobics is great, it’s the faster way to lose weight and burn fats.

Could she have some sort of emotional issue. People eat for strange reasons sometimes and over eat because of emotional issues. Does she get teased because of her weight. I have heard of girls eating more because of that. Do fun things that gets her moving with the family. Hikes, creek walking to collect neat rocks and stuff. Less television and more playing outside. I loved tag hide and seek at that age. Play with her whenever you can. Be encouraging, tell her she looks nice when she dresses well. Try to say something nice about her several times a day. Hope this helps.

time to lock up, thats what my mother had to do, and she had to watch what i bought with my money, as i owuld buy junk food, she still allowed me to buy the junk food just not as much.

after a few mth i say the wight coming off and felt better, and my mom used herself to show portion control and watched viedos on not over etting, so i learned by her . she didnt make me watch she just did it like it was for herself.

so lock up and make sure there not broken it to. combo locks didnt work for me i just spent a afternoon learning the code,,

she had to go for key locks, she left them unlocked ofr most of the day unless i was home alone then she left 1 cabnet unlocked that had snack food i could have.

but she locked them all up at night and hid the keys on a chain under her pillow,

i learned alot that year without ever feeling it was MY fault

How did you “learn” about this bahavior. Does she know that you know.
Try sitting down with her and talking about how she feels about herself and possibly any “hidden” problems she may be having.
Thats what I would do. Communication at this age is very important.
I take my 10 yr old for granted but she showed me recently that she has many questions that she doesnt know how to ask.
So, now, I ask her if there is anything she wants to talk about and she opens up to me and I feel honored to help her.
